Ready in under 20 minutes, this grilled lobster tail recipe is easy to prepare. It also tastes delicious and is great for those long summer evenings with a chilled drink or for any time of the year.
Grilled Lobster Tail Recipe Ingredients
- Raw lobster tail, as many as you require
- Small wedge of onion
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- White wine (Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay are ideal)
- Unsalted butter
- Sea salt
- Cracked black pepper
- Finely chopped garlic clove
- Fresh chopped parsley
- Honey
- Lemon wedges (optional)
Grilled Lobster Tail Recipe Method
Thoroughly defrost the lobster tail in a refrigerator for 24 hours and once defrosted take a sharp pair of scissors and cut down through the centre of the tail shell to open it up, leaving the tail fan intact.
Then add a small wedge of onion and two of the crushed garlic cloves in the bottom between the shell and the meat which will steam the flavour through during the cooking process.
In a separate bowl mix some of the white wine, unsalted butter, finely chopped garlic, finely chopped parsley and honey and add a pinch of sea salt and black pepper
Add as much of this sauce inside the shell as well as over the top of the lobster before cooking.
Then place the lobster tail under a preheated medium grill (or on a BBQ) and grill for 12 to 14 minutes until the lobster meat is opaque and the edges are slightly charred, occasionally spooning the juices and seasoning over the lobster meat.
The lobster shell will turn a vivid red and the juices that seep from the shells will start to coagulate when cooked.
