Classic King Prawn Cocktail Recipe Method
Thoroughly defrost the handful of cooked king prawns per dish in a refrigerator for 24 hours and once defrosted remove from the fridge.
If making your own seafood sauce, add 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of tomato ketchup, 1 teaspoon lemon juice and a small pinch ground white pepper into a small bowl and mix thoroughly.
Wash and roughly chop the lettuce leaves and cut the cherry tomatoes in halves.
Stir the king prawns into the seafood sauce, leaving 2 king prawns to one side to garnish on the top.
Add the chopped lettuce leaves and 3 halves of the cherry tomatoes into a serving dish. They can be mixed randomly.
Now spoon over the king prawns in the seafood sauce and add the half cherry tomato, 2 king prawns and fresh sprig of dill and crack a little black pepper over the top.
Serve with a lemon wedge on the side.
Classic King Prawn Cocktail Recipe Serving Suggestion
When using as a starter, simply place the dish on a small plate with a wedge of fresh lemon on the side to squeeze over the king prawn cocktail if desired.
